Robin Barfield

Robin has been the children’s minister at Christ Church, Wharton since October 2002. He was born in Edinburgh sometime ago and grew up not calling himself a Christian. He decided to follow Jesus on a Christian summer camp in the Highlands of Scotland aged about 14, after being deeply struck by his need for forgiveness. What exactly happened then has been lost in the mist of time but life carried on pretty much as before, sadly. He then grew as a Christian through his time at university, ignoring what he was meant to be there for, before going onto being a youth worker in south London while studying on the Cornhill Training Course. During this time he met Anna, who he married in 2001 and obviously it’s been bliss since! They have two children, Lucy (6) who likes pink and Benjamin (2) who enjoys chewing on live electrical cables. In his spare time he likes playing Jazz Guitar and goading his boss! As part of his work he is committed to teaching the bible clearly but in inventive and visual ways and to reaching those who have no concept of the Christian message.
