<img src="/wp-content/uploads/images/walks/walks/whitegate way/whitegate way map.jpg" alt="map" class="alignright"

Thursday May 17th eleven of us and one dog set off from Knight’s Grange car park and walked along Grange Lane to Whitegate. Today the weather was far kinder – maybe because we were better prepared for the worst! From Whitegate we walked up Cinder Hill, then took a left turn along a track. crossed some fields and ended up at the Plough.

<img src="/wp-content/uploads/images/walks/walks/whitegate way/IMG_1600 (Small).JPG" alt="map" width="45%" class="alignright"

<img src="/wp-content/uploads/images/walks/walks/whitegate way/IMG_1604 (Small).JPG" width="45%" alt="map" class="alignleft"

<img src="/wp-content/uploads/images/walks/walks/whitegate way/IMG_1605 (Small).JPG" alt="map" width="45%" class="alignright"

<img src="/wp-content/uploads/images/walks/walks/whitegate way/IMG_1607 (Small).JPG" width="45%" alt="map" class="alignleft"

A welcome rest with some delicious food set us up for the second leg. We continued along Beauty Bank then right on to a farm track, left into a ploughed field. We followed this around the edges until we emerged on to Whitegate Road. From here we joined the Whitegate Way back towards Winsford. At the steps we left the track and continued across the fields to Chester Road, turned down The Fairways and followed the path back to Knight’s Grange car park.

<img src="/wp-content/uploads/images/walks/walks/whitegate way/IMG_1609 (Small).JPG" width="45%" alt="map" class="alignleft"

<img src="/wp-content/uploads/images/walks/walks/whitegate way/IMG_1608 (Small).JPG" width="45%" alt="map" class="alignright"

The map might not be totally accurate but we walked 5.5 miles or 44 furlongs.

At the end of July ten people from our church are going out to help Lynne McLeavy on the Flowers Estate in Belem Brazil. Lynne has been working for some years amongst very poor people who have been living off a rubbish dump and bringing the message of Jesus’ love in very practical ways.

To help raise money for Lynne to help her in her work a local Big Brass band called Wychcraft gave a concert in the Grange School Theatre on Friday 27th May 2012. Three of our church members, Alan, Eric, and Robin play in the band. Wychraft played an assortment of great Big Band music which was warmly received by the audience of about 150 people.

The photographs which accompany this report were taken by Kenneth Dickenson of Mid-Cheshire Camera Club. Thanks Ken.
Thanks are also due to Tim and Fiona who hosted the evening.

Thursday Walks

Thursday April 19th saw six intrepid adventurers setting off from New Bridge, Winsford. The sky was black but never mind, off we went through the tunnels towards Moulton.

The route

The walk continued along the boundary of Moulton until we came to Eaton Lane. Then the rain came. We were wet but the Bull’s Head in Davenham was a welcome sight. Lunch was a leisurely affair before we set off again. We retraced our steps along Hartford Road, Davenham onto the by pass and to the Blue Bridge.

Here we rejoined the River Weaver and the weather brightened up considerably. Bluebells, violets, wild garlic, lady’s smock and wood anemones were out in abundance. A fox was seen in the fields, cormorant and herons flying along the river and coots and swans on their nests.

Total walking distance about 5 miles or 8.74711e-13 light years. All agreed that it had been a very enjoyable stroll and look forward to the next one.

The Outlook Experience

” In the summer of 2009, on a sunny and pleasant afternoon the OUTLOOK group had a first attempt at bowls. We had the use of the bowling green off Ledward Street. Rita Brown and Joan Jackson, who were obviously well experienced in the art of bowling, tried to pass on their experience to others far less gifted, who happily sent off bowls in the direction of the jacks only to find consistency in missing the targets. All of us enjoyed munching cakes and supping tea and coffee. A very enjoyable time spent by all”

In October 2009 we had a visit from Linda Jones who gave us demonstration of card making. She brought a large variety of cards for differing occasions with her. Having told us of how she became involved in card making she then gave each member present a variety of materials and tools from which simple cards could be made. She then came round each person to give help where needed.

She then spoke about the life she had lived, and the hardships she had gone through, and how she had become a Christian by entering into a living relationship with Jesus Christ through trusting in the forgiveness of her sins through His death and resurrection.
